The Experimental Station of Arid Zones includes a small museum, where the public can observe naturalised individuals of the most representative fauna from the geographic area of Almería.
An excellent collection of mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles which thrive in the Almería ecosystems, can be observed in its showcases. Although the collection includes predominantly naturalised examples, on display there are also outstanding collections of eggs, nests and some large snakes.
Invertebrates also have a significant place in the museum, due to their ecological importance. There is a splendid representation of the main orders of insects and aracnids which faunistically characterise the extreme south east of the Iberian Península.
Last but not least, there is a collection of rocks and minerals which bring the observer close to the geology of our region
Los contenidos del Museo y su forma de exposición permiten que el visitante comprenda y aprecie la riqueza e importancia de los valores naturales de la provincia de Almería.
