Monica´s research aims to understand how terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems interact with the hydrological cycle, the carbon cycle and the atmosphere.
To do that she uses process-based or data-driven models fed with remote sensing Earth Observation data from leaf to ecosystem and regional scales.
She works with datasets in synergy like hyperspectral and multispectral, thermal, Solar-Induced chlorophyll fluorescence or photogrammetry from in-situ, airborne or satellite sensors.
Current research topics: thermoregulation | ecological indicators over water and land | evapotranspiration
