- Anyone interested in the consultation of our funds can freely access the library and make use of consultation services in room and reprography.
- Can I access the loan?
- Only personnel of the CSIC (researchers, scholars, labor and administrative staff) can remove documents on loan.
- How do I get there?
- Arid zone Experimental Station is Almería, on Sacramento road s/n (on the Campus of the University of Almería). The library is located on the first floor of the building.
The EEZA library is a research library, specialized in ecology of arid zones, mainly in environmental, geomorphology and pedology, species in danger of extinction and entomology.
It is one of the more than 90 libraries that form the network of libraries of the CSIC
It was created in 1947, with the Foundation of the then Institute of acclimatization and since then it has served its work to support research and the scientists of the institution to which it belongs.
Bibliographic
The collection of the library of the station Experimental arid areas, specialized in ecology of arid zones, consists of a few:
- 7,000 monographs
- more than 800 titles of journals, of which about 100 are living collections
- 500 maps (topographic, vegetation, geology, etc.)
These funds can be found in the catalogues of the library network of the CSIC, CIRBIC
Consultation service
The library has two (monographs and journals) reading rooms with 8 posts read in each. All the monographs and the most used journals are located in open access in the reading room and the room of magazines. Tank journals and maps are available by request. Recent books and magazine numbers received, are exposed in the room of magazines.

- Guidance, training and support in the consultation, our computerized catalogues and databases on CD-ROM available from our library.
- Guidance on the use of the Internet as a source of information.
- Location of works in the libraries of the CSIC and Spanish universities.
Interlibrary loan service
This service allows access to funds, with loan of originals or photocopies of journal articles, that are not in the library, as well as the use of our funds to other libraries, optimizing investment in the acquisition of books and magazines.
Service for libraries and documentation centres
They can apply for loans of originals and photocopies of journals of our funds.

Books are provided for 15 days at destination, are sent and must be returned by registered mail and can be consulted only in the reading room.
Servicio para usuarios del centro
Pueden acceder a los documentos, originales o fotocopias, que no se encuentren en nuestra biblioteca.
Servicio de Préstamo Personal
Para acceder a este servicio es necesario disponer del carnet de usuario de las bibliotecas del CSIC, lo puede emitir cualquiera de ellas y sirve para todas las bibliotecas pertenecientes a la red. Es un servicio restringido al personal del CSIC, aunque puede concederse el acceso a usuarios externos como profesores, investigadores, doctores y licenciados, contando con la aprobación del Responsable del servicio de Biblioteca.
Todos los documentos existentes en la red son susceptibles de préstamo excepto:
- Obras de referencia
- Publicaciones periódicas
- Libros raros y valiosos
- Tesis, tesinas y proyectos fin de carrera (no publicados)
- Atlas
El plazo máximo de préstamo es de cuatro semanas y podrá ser renovado de no estar reservado a otro lector.
Servicio de Reprografía
La biblioteca cuenta con una fotocopiadora a disposición de sus usuarios.
