Abstract:
The Moroccan government signed in 1995 the Biodiversity Convention (CBD-UN), and since then, he is committed to the recovery of its rich natural heritage through an active politic, implemented through collaboration with national and international partners. - Abstract: The Moroccan government signed in 1995 the Biodiversity Convention (CBD-UN), and since then, he is committed to the recovery of its rich natural heritage through an active politic, implemented through collaboration with national and international partners. According to the IUCN, the Mhorr gazelle (Nanger dama mhorr) and the Dorcas gazelle (Gazella dorcas) are among the most endangered Moroccan animal species; in fact, the Mhorr antelope is consider as extinct in the wild . The Dorcas gazelles, former abundant and widely distributed along the country, are currently restricted to remote areas; Morocco hosts an exclusive subspecies of this species: G. dorcas massaesyla . In order to recover and reverse the tendency to their disappearance, the Moroccan government, through the Waters and Forests Department (DEF), has been designing a series of conservation´s actions to protect last remained ungulate wild population species and to recover those extinct. The purpose of proposed collaboration is the elaboration of a series of practical actions to preserve the above mentioned animal species
